IN LOVE.... BUT NOT IN LUCK.

Love, they say, is a beautiful thing but I think that's only applicable when you find the right person.

Some believe in love at first sight while others say love needs to be nurtured properly to help it grow over time.

I have come to realize one thing about love, its not a feeling but an action.

The truth is, love is a mutual thing. In a relationship, the two parties must be willing and ready to give as well as take.

On no account should it be one-sided else one person would definitely suffer while the other is enjoying.

I bumped into a former school mate at the bank some weeks ago. We haven't seen since he graduated in 2007.

We were in the same Faculty of Arts but he was in the music department. He seriously had an eye for me because he was almost always in my department whenever he wasn't having lecture.

He visited me several times in my hostel with different musical instruments, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, drum, flute, piano and he'll always play me a sweet love song. My girlfriends nicknamed him "Crazy Music!"

Funny enough I don't even remember his name anymore since he accepted the name we called him maybe because he was in love.

This guy was so nice and romantic but the truth was I just liked him as a friend and I didn't want to lead him on so I told him we could only be friends.

He said he couldn't bring himself to love another but me, meanwhile, there was one nonsense guy in my class that was turning my head that year. Lolz.

So 'Crazy Music' and I remained friends after several toasting, chyking, and expression of romance.

Back to reality, he asked me;

"So what are you doing here?"

"Oh! I came to pay my children's school fees. You?"

"Wow, you're married. How many kids do you have?"

"Two. What's up with you?"

"Well, I haven't really been lucky with love. Still searching"

Now I really felt for him because I have always known him to be a nice, caring and romantic guy.

"What about your funny girlfriends back then?" Crazy Music asked.

I had to laugh because I knew my girlfriends are funny and crazy like me too.

"They're doing great, we're still very much in touch. We even had a reunion two months ago." I replied.

"Now that's nice. What about that other guy I used to meet in your room then? Are you guys still in touch too?" He asked again.

"Yes, we are. He's the one that sent me to come and pay his children's fee!"

Now we both laughed crazily.

"Are you kidding me, you guys got married! Wow, congrats. Please greet him for me."

Now, this got me wondering; Crazy Music is doing great, financially stable, caring, nice, romantic and a very generous guy.

Why do you think he has been unlucky with ladies? Please share your thoughts.
