HEARTY CHEERS TO THE TORY TELLER'S MUM!

Hey Lovers!!!
I hope the few days we have gone through this year have been meaningful so far.
Well, today I come with great news, it's the first birthday celebration of the year!
Sound the alarm, ring the bell, beat the drums, blow the trumpets it's a special announcement people!

Can I let this day pass without fond thoughts of the one who brought me into this world? Absolutely impossible!

My Beloved Mum, Mrs. Esther Adanna Chukwuma-Nwaozor adds another year today!

Hurray!
Undoubtedly, this woman occupies a very special place in my heart and I'm eternally grateful that she is my mum.

If I had to pick a mother in my next life, I will definitely pick her, there is no argument about that because she is more than a mother to me, my siblings, and many others around her.

A woman of prayer with a heart of gold, an encourager, a supporter, a selfless giver, a disciplinarian, a grandma par excellence, a lover of God and man, and an Evangelist.

She has taught and raised me to be a good daughter, caring sister, dependable friend, loving wife, and supportive mother to my children too. The story of my life is incomplete without her of course. You can read up about her in Mother's sacrificeMy journey to motherhoodHeart of a mother, and how she disciplined me in my childhood days in The day I stopped lying.

Without mincing words, she is one of the reasons I started blogging because stories of the upbringing she gave my siblings and I were my major content when I first started writing. Very funny indeed.

On this day, I specially dedicate this poem to her because she is an unparalleled epitome of motherhood. Happiest Birthday my beloved Mother. I love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever. May your days be long and fulfilled.

Who sat and watched my infant head
When  sleeping on my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed?
My Mother.

When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye,
And wept for fear that I should die?
My Mother.

Who taught my infant lips to pray
And love God’s holy book and day,
And walk in wisdom’s pleasant way?
My Mother.

And can I ever cease to be
Affectionate and kind to thee,
Who wast so very kind to me,
My Mother?

Ah, no! the thought I cannot bear,
And if God please my life to spare
I hope I shall reward thy care,
My Mother.

When thou art feeble, old and grey,
My healthy arm shall be thy stay,
And I will soothe thy pains away,
My Mother.
