I ASKED HIM FROM GOD!

I had just missed my period that month and it was over a week late.

Well, I wasn't really worried because it seemed like God had actually heard a request I had secretly and silently been making in my closet unknown to my hubby.

It was just a month after my daughter's 5th birthday and I vividly remember the prayer my dad made on that day.

In his words, "Our Father, Precious has been lonely for too long, open the windows of heaven and shower your blessings upon this home, please send down a companion for her. We desire to hear the cry of a baby in this home once again. Thank you, my father, because I know you always hear me."

We all chorused, "Amen!"

And now the missing period, was it a sign?

When I informed my hubby he immediately suggested a pregnancy test and I didn't delay in getting one.

Well, your guess is as good as mine.

It was positive!

I was already smiling before I saw the rest anyway because I could feel it in my spirit that a seed had been sown inside me.

The circumstances surrounding the gestation period is a story for another day, but I can confidently tell you that the devil failed, again and again.

I was about six months gone and yet to do a scan when my dad called me and told me, "you will have a son and his name is Samuel!"

A confirmation of the name I already had in mind when I told God I would love to have a male child, the same name Precious, my daughter gave him after she woke up from a dream a few weeks earlier.

Obviously, this one is special.

During the pregnancy, I was involved in 3 accidents but to the glory of God, I had my baby in good health.

Since his birth, a lot has taken place in me, my home and my family of which I am grateful.

Today, Samuel turns 6 and I'm proud of the smart boy has become already.

The way he engages adults in conversations, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you that he is full of wisdom. His I.Q level is way above his age mates. Sometimes his questions leave me speechless.

Words fail me to express how I feel but I know that I am a happy and blessed mother and I couldn't ask for more.

God has indeed been good and gracious to us.

Join me as I celebrate my handsome Prince Samuel Chukwuebuka Udeh.

Happiest birthday son, may you continue to grow in wisdom, stature, and favor in Jesus' name, Amen.

Truly, I asked him of the Lord!
