WHAT MARRIAGE IS NOT.
Today I have very juicy marriage gist for y'all.
I've always told you that marriage is not a bed of roses, and that's because I don't want anyone to deceive you into it.
You know I love you and would always tell you the truth not minding whose 'ox is gored'.
Anyway, my two kobo opinion is this, marriage is not an "one size fits all" kinda thing.
Nope!
If anyone told you that, he/she is the devil's P.A (Personal Assistant).
The way your marriage works will always be different from mine so on no account should you ever compare yours with anybody's.
Remember life itself is an individual journey.
Just find out what works for you and your spouse and adopt it. Shikina!
That's what's most important.
For those planning to get married soon, please take time to understand and enjoy your spouse before having children.
There's no part of the constitution that says you must have children immediately you get married.
The truth is that once the kids start coming, your life changes forever.
Well, not till eternity though, maybe till your last child is finally settled and out of your house.
Let me give you a practical example, the couple you see here are my parents and yes this is their 40th year in marriage.
They are now enjoying themselves and flexing, but it wasn't always sweet, calm and peaceful like this when my siblings and I were still kids.
They are now grandparents, have retired and have time to even go and watch Merry Men in the cinema, when I'm here struggling to balance work and family.
Chai! Inside life!
Just look at Dado doing peace sign!
It's not their fault though. It's their time.
So my dear reader, find out what works for you and your spouse and implement it.
As for the singles, enjoy this stage of life and don't let anyone pressure you into anything.
The calendar of your life lies in God's hands.
Trust him to direct your path and order your steps.
Remember, The Tory Teller loves you plenty!
Stay Happy!
