TALES OF A TEENAGE GIRL. 2

As soon as I got home, I saved Stephanie's number on my phone and started making plans to give her a call before the end of the day.

I was earnestly hoping that the friendship we started that evening was strong enough for me to reach out to her without her pushing me away.

Teenagers of these days can be very elusive. Can one fully understand and know them in-depth without their consent and approval? I don't think so.

I sent her a message on WhatsApp that evening just to be sure she got home safely and she replied.

My joy knew no bounds as we gradually took our friendship to the next level.

I told her to see me as a big sister and feel free to reach out to me whenever she wanted.

A week after our meeting I sent her airtime and encouraged her to focus on her studies.

She was excited and very appreciative for the kind gesture.

We grew into WhatsApp pals overtime, finally I was getting close to my goal and this made very excited.

One day while chatting with her I told her that she reminded me of my childhood days and how I wished she was my friend back then.

Our discussion progressed to the point where she told me about her boyfriend and I told her how proud I was of her.

I went further to tell her she was lucky because in my days I wasn't allowed to have one, her parents must be very understanding and supportive.

She eventually opened up to say they weren't aware so I assured her that it will be our little secret as long as she carries me along, I'll help her navigate through her relationship without stress.

To say she was over the moon would be an understatement. Then she let the cat out of the bag.

Stephanie's boyfriend is Oloyede and he's in S.S 2.

They have been dating for about 7 months and she likes him more than the other boys who asked her out.

Though they haven't had sex, they have shared various forms of intimacy which includes foreplay and even oral sex.

Everyone in her school does it so it's not a big deal, unless of course you're a ju-babe or ju-guy.

According to her she is not ready to loose her virginity because her mum will kill her when she finds out.

What advice would you give Stephanie?

Remember she a digital native and the way you pass the message to her is as important, if not more important than the message.

Response needed urgently.

Kindly drop your advice in the comment section.

Thank you

  1. The girl's case is a delicate one and one has to be careful in order to send the wrong message or scare her away.

It's obvious she is naive. You have to carefully with love and prayers let her know that we as humans are responsible for our choices.
A good choice can make us and a bad choice will mar our destiny or destroy it.
Let her know the implications of her choice and how her parents will be affected if she makes a wrong one
Personally, I love my dad very much and God and I didn't want to hurt them so it helped to guide me through. I must confess it wasn't easy ...
    As a fine gal that I am😉

  2. Good thing you've succeeded in making her your trusted friend isn't judgemental towards her. That's all our teenagers need; someone who will look them in the eye and say "I do not judge you, I completely understand how you feel"
Now is the time to take it to the next level. You must make her understand that her actions are entirely up to her and there are consequences for every action, either to make her or to mare her.
