31 THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR

Hey People!

We are a few days from saying 'farewell' to 2020 and in the midst of all the uncertainty, anxiety, and curiosity, I am wrapping up the year with my own gratitude challenge.

You may be wondering if there is still something to be grateful for in a year that dealt the world a ginormous blow, humbling both the rich and the poor, the high and mighty and the low class, the educated and illiterate, old and young, great and small.

Well, I will be sharing with you 31 things I am grateful for and I hope that as you take this ride with me, you would have sufficient reasons to join this gratitude challenge tagged #31daysof gratitude.

1. LIFE:

Life is a gift that can only be appreciated by the living. Being alive is not an entitlement but a privilege, only those in the grave can understand this.

I know that many were born in the same year I came into this world, many, in the month of May and a lot on the 2nd of May but I don't know how many of them have made it this far. One thing I am sure of is that majority of them have passed on.

I do not take the gift of life for granted in anyway. I have, on several occasions been through the valley of shadow of death, and exited alive.

There are countless times I have encountered situations that I thought would see my end, but God said, "Not yet!"

Dear God, I am grateful to be alive.

2. GOOD HEALTH AND HEALING:

Have you ever been to the hospital? I mean the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency section. If you have, you would realize that your ability to do that is a rare privilege. You have the most important parts of your body in good condition and functioning, you should be grateful.

Do you know that some of the illnesses you recovered from also attacked a million and one others but they didn't live to tell the story.

Every person reading this post is a survival of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and that should not be taken with a pinch of salt.

2020 saw me battling with my health and that of my family, I shared a very intense recovery tale with y'all in 'The fight for my life', so I am thankful for the healing that God constantly offers me on a silver platter, even when I don't deserve it.

If I was to be granted mercy based on how faithful I've been to God, hmmm, I would have been history by now and six feet below.

I do not, in any way, take God's mercy for granted.

Dear God, I am grateful for good health and healing.

3. MY PARENTS:

When we arrive this world, we realize that one of the choices God makes for you, without your consent or approval, is your parents.

To very frank, if I was given the opportunity to make that choice, I am a 100% sure I would have fumbled. Who knows, I could have gone for one wealthy politician who has zero fear of God and lived a life of affluence without a relationship with my creator and just basking in the ambience of my parents wealth, arrogance and negligence to responsibility. Hahaha.

Money isn't really everything. I know this may not sit well with many but then think there are other things you can acquire in addition to money.

I say this with every breath in me, 'I have the best parents in the world'. The story of my life would be incomplete without them. Elder Raphael and Mama Esther Chukwuma Nwaozor are one of the best things that happened to me.

Their love, care, support, encouragement, prayers, wisdom, generosity, counsel, passion for success, motivation is topnotch and unequalled. If there was another life, I would want them as my parents again.

You can read about my Dado here and my Mum here. I will never trade them for anything in the world. They have carried me, and still do, both physically and spiritually. I know what their prayers do for me, I have evidence and I see it at work in my life daily.

Dear God, I am grateful for my parents.

4. MY SIBLINGS:

There's a saying that a 'tree cannot make a forest'. Very apt right now if you ask me. Sometimes I wonder how life would have been for me if I was an only child. Sincerely, it wouldn't have been funny.

Now, I am not saying this to throw shades or belittle those who were born as the only child, no, never! Y'all are special, undauntedly. I am saying this because of one of my weaknesses, I am a people's person. (I really don't know if it's a strength too)

I confess, I can't do without people! I love company and I'm too clingy. I guess these are my features that made God bless me with not 2 or 4 but 6 siblings!

Yes, you guessed right, we're 7 children born of one man and woman. Typical African family right? Lolz.

Each of my sibling has in no little way impacted positively to my life, education, career, ministry and even business. I do not take them for granted!

I have also learnt a lot from them. I must also point out that they have been great supporters of The Tory Teller's brand as they have helped me with content for this blog. You can read up about them here and here.

My sibling are one of the best things that happened. I can call any of them at any time to demand urgent attention and I'll always get it, that's how closely knitted we are.

In the words of my little sister, "What are siblings for if not for inconvenience!" Lolz. I could actually write a book on them.

Dear God, I am grateful for my siblings!

5. MARRIAGE:

Those who have been consistent on this blog know by now that I am a big fan of marriage especially since I have written a good number of posts on that, mine precisely. You can read up some here and here.

I haven't hesitated to mention the challenges and struggles in my marriage too. Like I've previously stated, anyone who tells you that marriage is a bed of roses is a the devil's P.A and has a high table in hell!

Surprisingly, in about 2 weeks, my marriage will be 12 years!😱😱😱

What! I'm in shock! I really can't believe this! How come? But we only just said 'I do' a few years ago! Time really does fly.

Please don't ask me how it has been because I done know how I've stayed married to this same 'Anambra' man. Lolz. You can book a training session for next year anyway.πŸ˜‰

I cannot deny the benefits of marriage, at least I am having sex shamelessly without fear of what my parents will say.😜

Dear God, I am grateful for my marriage!
