It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Television felt so good when I was a little kid especially during Christmas time. I sang along to the Christmas jingles and at some point, I believed that Santa was real, it didn’t matter to me if he didn’t bring presents to Zimbabwe. That little fantasy world kept me going. My festive season felt complete.

I remember the day my momma got me boy jeans which are now popularly known as boyfriend jeans with a pair of wedge heels. I thought my mom switched my Christmas clothes with someone else but alas that was my Christmas look. I started loving them so much surprisingly.

The aroma that filled the room still is my favorite part about Christmas. Family members coming in with different foodstuffs, it’s unfortunate that I was not a photographer yet because by now I would have a lot of Christmas albums. Food is powerful in these times, the happiness is tremendous.

I don’t want to ignore the fact that my Christmas spirit is not the same anymore cause someone’s daughter is getting the hang of adulting. I didn’t even buy Christmas clothes for myself because 2020 showed me some flames. I am still looking forward to the food though but for Christmas movies, I am no longer a loyal fan.

Holla! Now you see that buying over sized clothes for children is actually an African thing so please forgive your parents, it's our culture!

  1. The moment your momma buys you trousers for Christmas, it means you've become a "big girl" 😂

And yup, adulting has changed a lot of things about the holidays.

Merry Christmas to you, Nicole. It's good to have you here! 🤗🥰
