PREGNANCY SCARE: Positive or Negative?

If you're a female please take the front seat before we start this discussion. The guys, if you don't mind, you can stand at the back or even sit on the floor. Thank you!

Sisters, I have a quick question for y'all. Have you ever missed your period when you least expected it? Before you respond, if you know that since you started your having your menstruation you have never undergone any form of discomfort, by this I mean no period cramps, no painful nipple, no mood swing, no crankiness, no stomach upset, no purging, no body pains, no unnecessary irritation. If you have never experienced any of these during your menstruation please proceed to the high table.

Guys, just so you know that these are a few of the things we ladies experience that make some people hate having their period. Now you know why women should be celebrated 365 times a year.

Okay, sorry I digress.

Recently, there has been this pressure from friends and acquaintances, especially on Social Media to have more kids. If you are a first-timer to this blog, I am a mother of 2, a 12-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old boy. It seems like everyone is suddenly having an opinion about my family and wants to share it without holding back. For every time I post my son's picture, I keep hearing:

'Sammy is old enough to have a younger one!'

'When are we expecting baby number 3?'

'What are you waiting for?'

It's not like I am bothered about all of these but at a point, it seems to have been getting to me. My Anambra man and I have had the talk and made our decision so there is no course for alarm. Not like this pressure cannot be suppressed anyway.

The thing is, I think that these small small talks started hunting me. Every time I sleep, I see myself pregnant or nursing a baby. (Okay, I confess, I love children, babies most especially). Why and how I started seeing them in my dreams is what I couldn't understand.

The truth is having a baby needs a lot of preparation. You don't just wake up one day and get pregnant without a plan, that's so wrong, and this is one of the reasons you see people struggling to raise their children. As a couple, you need to plan for the conception, gestation, childbirth, and post partum process before you even commence. You should Diary of a Broken Women where I share a story of a woman who suffered postpartum depression. Having a baby requires you to be ready sexually, mentally, psychologically, physically, spiritually, and most importantly financially.

If nobody has told you, let me be the first to let you know that, raising children is expensive!

So I notice that my period had been delayed by a day and I am like, ehm, okay, not unusual. I am low-key happy that the lady in red is not going to stress me at the moment so I wait for another 48 hours and still no show. At this point, I am like, what if all my jangolover has yielded something, am I ready? Then the panic starts.

Long story short, I go for a test and the suspense is almost killing me.

What do you think the result would be? Positive or Negative?

See you in my next blogmas post!

Remember Tory Teller loves you and is rooting for you!

  1. The way married women panic when they miss their periods ehn😆😆. Unlike some of us, if we miss ours, I won't even be bothered.

I await the positive news in the next blog post.
