GOING BACK TO MY FIRST LOVE!

Hello Fabulous People!

Is it too late to say Happy New Month?

Yeah, I know we are in the middle of the month already, but then, this is my first post for September so please accept my greeting with your heart because it comes from mine.

I hope life has been treating you well and you don’t have much complains. As for Yours truly, I have been going through a lot and a lot has been going through me. So I and a lot are kinda  even. Just kidding.

I didn’t abandon you o, not at all. This life of a content creator has been overwhelming me greatly. Managing my job, family, business, and my YouTube channel… you can’t imagine. I can’t complain though because this is what we wanted right?

So I recently read a post by Lebogang Shazzygal Malatji, about how writing helps our mental health and I remembered my first love, blogging. Do you know writing can be therapeutic? I am a witness to how writing helped me heal from depression and mental stress.

After I left my last place of work, it was like a dream breaking free from a toxic workplace, and being able to do things I wanted to do at my own pace was a huge blessing. I was unemployed for a while and after enjoying the freedom from struggling to meet up with work pressure, I gradually started second-guessing my decision when there was no income for a while.

By the time I stayed home for about 4 months with continuous rejection letters from all the places I had applied for jobs, I started wallowing in self pity and it didn’t take long for anxiety and depression to get accommodation in my head  living rent free. You know what they say about an idle mind being the devil’s workshop.

Long story short, that was when I ignited my writing passion once again. I started penning down my experience and this eventually birthed Tory Teller’s Blog. So, there you have my backstory. I write stories from my experience and that of others and we learn lessons from them to help us navigate through life and become better people. I am grateful for the gift of not just writing but being able to create content as a Youtuber, connecting with lots of people and building a strong community of creatives; thanks to Afro-Bloggers.

That being said, if you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel please follow this link, Gist with Tory Teller to do so, watch my videos, like them, and don’t hesitate to share.

I have not forsaken my first love, blogging, I have just been cooking some things that I am sure would make you proud of me. Now you know why I have been away for some time so anticipate!

Before I wrap up this post, I would like to know, do you write? As a blogger, content creator, entrepreneur, or you just keep a journal/diary. If yes, what does writing do for you? Feel free to share your response in the comment section.

Remember Tory Teller loves you and is rooting for you.

  1. I'm so glad you managed to come back to your first love. Blogging is indeed something we cannot run away from. Once the bug bites you, there's no turning back. And the good thing is while we are at it, we become happier, rejuvenated, and restored. Welcome back.
